Bridgetown Electric is a full service electrical contractor serving the Portland Metropolitan area since 1994. We excel in residential and commercial electrical installations. Thank you for visiting our site and considering our business for your project.
The success of our business is our ability to meet the needs of our customers and our employees. Our business philosophy is to build value for our customers, suppliers and employees. We expect the quality of our workmanship to generate referrals and repeat business.
All journeymen electricians are required to take twenty-four hours of training every two years to keep their licenses current. A minimum of eight hours are required to review changes in electrical code. This ensures we are on top of new methods of wiring and code requirements.
We do it right the first time, clean up after ourselves, make sure our work looks good and that everything works before we leave a project. Small things that make a big difference for any size project.
In 1994, Keith Steenslid bought a truck, filled it with tools and started his electrical contracting business as Bridgetown Electric. As the demand for his careful and experienced work grew, so did our business. We are proud to have some of our first customers still asking for our services today.
We are licensed by the Construction Contractors Board, and the Building Codes Division (OR CCB #103824). We are also licensed in Washington, (BRIDGE*883MJ). We are members of the Independent Electrical Contractors of Oregon where we gain professional development through seminars, conferences and networking.
In June 2011, we moved into our new building at 5701 North Lombard Street in the University Park business district. With the help of Portland Development Commission funding, we upgraded a neighborhood eyesore into a beautiful building that houses two businesses. It has been our pleasure to rehab this commercial property to benefit our business and the community.
Bridgetown Electric is an expert in residential electrical installations. We started our business in the Irvington neighborhood and specialize in early 20th century home remodel projects, additions, and complex integration of old and new wiring methods.
Our experience spans electrical challenges presented by homes built in the early 1900's to new construction. Our employees know how to work with knob and tube wiring, plaster walls, and wood flooring. We are responsive to customer requests and recommend cost effective solutions for your electrical needs.
Bridgetown Electric specializes in ground up commercial electrical installations, tenant improvements, and service work. No job is too small. We work with general contractors, building managers, maintenance managers, developers, retail, manufacturing, business owners, and suppliers for service in the commercial market. New construction or improvements to offices, restaurants, manufacturing facilities or storefronts are perfect for our team. Our team is skilled and efficient in running projects that come in on time and on budget.
We provide electrical services for industrial or commercial business seeking skilled technicians to help them make informed decisions for business. We manage the permitting from the start of the job to completion and because of our size, the journeyman that starts your project, completes your project.

We are a training agent of the Independant Electrical Contractors of Oregon. It is our responsibility as a member of this organization to assist with the training and development of our future electricians. Our employment of apprentices depends on our work load as there is a ratio that we must adhere to in order to maintain the quality of our work and quality of training. Therefore, you may find an assistant to the Journeyman on your project who might be pulling wire, installing fixtures, digging ditches, etc. We take pride in our apprentices as they begin to develop their skills to become professionals in the trade.
